About the Chefs:
Lauren Cotner
Executive Chef and Partner
Lauren is a San Francisco native with strong North Bay roots. She spent her childhood running through the grapevines in the Wine Country of Sonoma, and body boarding and riding horses on the West Marin Coast in Bolinas.
Her family is very nature oriented and close to their food sources, from growing their own seasonal vegetables to salmon and crab fishing to hunting wild game.
Lauren made San Francisco her home for over 14 years, working in marketing and advertising, catering for some of San Francisco and Sonoma's finest, and as a private personal chef.
Her love has always been in the kitchen and with all the excitement surrounding healthy eating, local farming, organic produce, sustainable fish and clean meats she thought it was the perfect time to share her passion with a broader audience.
Charles Cotner
Chef and Partner
Charles first started working in restaurants in 1982, taking a job as a dishwasher to earn money for his first car. He soon worked his way up to prep cook , line cook, and eventually sous chef. He spent several years working in upscale kitchens across the Southwest - working for many acclaimed chefs including Dean Fearing, Mark Miller, Rosalea Murphy, and Stephan Pyles.
After the brutal hours and low salaries of restaurant work began to take their toll, Charles enrolled in college and began on an academic path, eventually graduating with a law degree. He then worked for many years in the legal field and the technology industry. Meeting Lauren rekindled his love of cooking - and Charles decided to follow his heart both into a new career and a partnership with his wife.
